With David Price getting pulled early last night due to triceps soreness and possibly looking at a DL stint the Rays will be forced to call up one of their Triple A studs. I personally feel Price needs the DL stint both physically and mentally at this point. If not a DL stint he surely will miss his next start at the very least.
So what does this mean for Fantasy owners? If you own Price or you need some help on the SP side only two names come to mind for a replacement; that would be Chris Archer and Jake Odorizzi. According to the Tampa Bay Times, they have stated that Odorizzi will get the call ahead of Archer. I have to disagree. I feel Archer gets the call based on his lower HR/9 rate. Regardless who gets the nod; both SP have minimal big league experience, but both are lighting it up in Triple A. Each has a K/9 ratio over 9.00 with an ERAs under 4.00.
I will be picking up Archer in at least 1 league and Odorizzi in another because Archer was plucked off waivers last night. The good news is whomever is called up they will get 2 starts next week. The first, against the Blue Jays and the next against the Yankees.
