New A's 3B

If you are in need of some at bats in the near future from a player that qualifies at 1B, 2B, and 3B you should keep your eye on Luke Hughes. He was claimed off waivers from Minnesota this past Sunday and according to A’s manager Bob Melvin Hughes will get a long look at 3B. With Donaldson hitting less than .100 and Sogard under .175 at the hot corner both have been a disappointment   this season filling in for the injured Scott Sizemore.

Hughes is not the type of hitter to bolster your squad across the board but with his position flexibility and recent vote of confidence from his manager you might be able to pick up some counting stats. A good pick up if you have room on your bench in daily leagues. You might just catch some of that Aussie magic in the short term. Do not let today’s absence from the line-up discourage you. He caught the same bug that has been around the A’s locker room for the last few days.
