Let us take a look at some of the upcoming pitchers who will be the Major Leagues at some point in the near future. All of the prospects below were taken in the 1st round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft and are working their way up the respected affiliation ladder sooner, rather than later.
Seattle Mariners South-Paw Danny Hultzen is coming along quite nicely in the minor leagues. Danny was drafted in the first round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft. Danny is currently pitching for AA Jackson Generals. Hultzen holds a record of 7-3, 1.28 ERA, 70 IP, 34 H, 14 R, 10 ER, 2 HR, 31 BB, 75 K, 0.924 WHIP.
Arizona Diamondbacks RHP Trevor Bauer is coming along in the minor leagues. Trevor was drafted 3rd overall in the first round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft. Trevor is currently pitching for AAA Reno Aces. Bauer had split this season so far between AA, and AAA and has a totals of both leagues of, a record 10-1, 1.79 ERA, 80 IP, 58 H, 19 R, 16 ER, 2 HR, 40 BB, 102 K, 1.220 WHIP.
Baltimore Orioles RHP Dylan Bundy recently received a minor league promotion to High A Frederick. Bundy was drafted 4th overall in the first round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft. Dylan is currently pitching for High A Frederick Keys. Bundy had split this season so far between Low A, Delmarva, and High A Frederick, and has a totals of both leagues of, a record 3-1, 1.00 ERA, 45 IP, 18 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 2 HR, 6 BB, 58 K, 0.553 WHIP.
Boston RedSox RHP Matt Barnes recently received a promotion in the minor leagues. Barnes was drafted 19th overall in the first round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft. Matt is currently pitching for High A, Salem RedSox. Barnes had split this season so far between Low A, Greenville Drive, and High A Salem RedSox and has a totals of both leagues of, a record 6-1, 0.93 ERA, 67 IP, 43 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 1 HR, 11 BB, 86 K, 0.798 WHIP.
